In preparation for the GUI Championship, I plan to compile a theme on icon in the beginning. But I haven’t been drawing icons for two year and I consider it opportunity and also challenge. During my design, I tried many styles and angles and finally narrowed the texture down to combination of matt metal and organic glass with fore-and-after two-point perspective. In fact, I have used this perspective method in one of my works in 2004 competition. But for some auditing reason, I failed to submit in time and thus abolished. There’re 120 icons for the whole set and I suppose it will be the theme with the biggest quantity. I tried all my effort in making every icon exquisite, plump, magnanimous and harmonized at same time unique. In consideration of the display effect under XP and Vista, no matter the original 256x256 big icon or the pixel-dotted icon will be continuously improved to perfection

Hi, all. Sincerely hope you like to use this series of Icons named”Evolution”. At the beginning, we got many ideas about designing the icons. But finally we had an audacious thought that all icons can be made from electronic products in the future. The electronic products are small, portable and environmental protection; they are interacted by entity and virtual. Based on the thought we designed the “Evolution” series icons. We hope all materials used to produce computer hardware are not that kind plastic which need thousands of years to decompose, but some kind of organo materials and can be recycled. The monitor of the computer can change color easily, and can adjust the brightness and contrast automatically according to the light to protect human’s eyes ; meanwhile, the monitor also have the touch function and can view images made by projector. The larger the storage, the faster the computer read the data, the safer the documents. Have the entity and virtual together, they can have more solid interaction.
